Bathroom Cabinet Painting With Less Mess In Anchorage, AK

When you're considering the way that your bathroom looks and how you can improve upon it, it's entirely possible that you will want to replace the cabinet — but a good paint job will be more economical and to some extent environmentally friendly as well!

Less trash going to the landfill being good, you have to be careful as you paint your bathroom cabinet — it's quite possible to make a mess as you paint and if you follow some basic tricks, you can avoid a lot of this mess.

With that being so, let's have a look at some tips for bathroom cabinet painting with less mess for when you want a nicely painted bathroom cabinet.

1. Cover The Floor Near The Cabinet

One thing that you're going to want to do when you're looking to paint the cabinet or cabinets and you want to have less of a mess during the painting project is to make sure that you cover the floor near to where you are going to be painting.

The issue with painting your cabinet that might lead to messes being made is that you are going to find that paint does occasionally drip down from both your paint brush as well as any paint roller that you might be using.

By covering your floor during the painting process, you will find that you are going to have a much cleaner painting job than if you were to allow the floor to go uncovered, particularly if you check that the covering doesn't allow paint or primer to get through it and that it doesn't move around while you walk on it.

2. Remove The Doors And Drawers

Another way that you're going to be able to help your painting project when you're working on painting your bathroom cabinet or cabinets is to remove the doors and drawers before you start applying the paint and primer to them.

The benefit to doing this is that you will find that it is much easier to get to parts of the cabinet or cabinets once you have the doors and drawers removed from it / them.

You are also likely going to be able to do a much better job applying paint and primer to the doors and drawers themselves when they are not attached to the cabinet, and the way that these will dry is going to be improved by lying flat on appropriate surfaces rather than hanging vertically.

3. Use Appropriately Sized Paint Brushes And Rollers

Sometimes a person will go out looking for paint brushes and rollers for a painting project and will solicit advice on what kind of brushes and rollers to get, and without really going into detail may say that they are looking to do an interior painting project.

However well intentioned, it's entirely possible that you may be led off track if you do not specify that you are trying to paint a cabinet, which is going to often need a different size of paint brush and roller than if you were to be painting the walls of an interior room, for example.

Be sure that you have the right sized paint brushes and rollers before you apply that first coat of primer and paint because as much as it is quite possible to do so, using the wrong sized equipment is going to be quite bad for your painting project.

4. Take Your Time While Painting

Lastly, remember that when you rush through a painting project you are only hurting the project in the long term.

You may save a few minutes up front but you will find that you have created a longer painting project because of mistakes that will need correcting and messes that will need to be cleaned.
